Managing the legendary CRUD programmer trilogy with Maven — the bumps along the road don't bear mentioning — and after finally getting it all done, it throws an IncompatibleClassChangeError at me.
java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError:
class org.springframework.core.LocalVariableTableParameterNameDiscoverer
$ParameterNameDiscoveringVisitor has
interface org.springframework.asm.ClassVisitor as super classWill it ever end....
Did some searching online; apparently it's caused by inconsistent Spring versions.
In Maven there's a small option to choose versions. At the moment, some Spring dependencies have 3.2.5, while others only have 3.0.5. I initially selected the latest version for all of them, so obviously the versions would be inconsistent. I had to align to the lower version.
But there could still be problems. The cause of the error was duplicate JAR packages in the deployment environment that hadn't been cleaned up. So all I had to do was redeploy.
