Sheldon and Penny's "intimacy acceleration experiment" in The Big Bang Theory S08E16 is quite interesting. At its core, two people openly confess their hidden vulnerabilities to each other in order to reach a shared understanding of life. Still, it feels a lot like a confession of love — just being willing to be that honest with each other already means the two are incredibly close. Envious.
